It is our passion that the faces of the world would mirror the faces of children; that the attitudes of people toward one another would reflect the innocence of our children. Hate and discrimination are not genetic…they are learned from those who raise us.
The reality is that this is not the world that we live in. Instead, my many years of study, work, research, and observation show a very different world. The injustices, legal and social, that disparately affect minorities and the poor; the racism which continues and, is on the rise once again; the lack of equal education for everyone, the continued segregation of schools; and the continued inaction by the government with respect to poverty and racism have all led to dividing America along racial and class lines. Not that the government is totally responsible for ending racism, hate, and poverty, but, they are the example that many follow. If the government sees nothing wrong, then its people often don’t either.
Mission
It is our mission to provide information and ideas to individuals, businesses, and organizations on how we can unite the people in our neighborhoods, the workplace and this country. As history has taught us, united we can stand strong and overcome, but divided, we will most certainly weaken and fail.
What is the answer? We believe that there are several areas that must be addressed to effectively fight poverty and racism:
· Equal education that provides the same opportunities to every child regardless of income or race;
· True diversity in schools without the segregation of children or program tracks within the school ;
· Housing for every family that they can be proud of in a place that they can feel safe; and,
· Medical care that is available and affordable to everyone so that parents can feel secure about their health care and the care of their children.
With these areas addressed, it is further our mission to begin to remedy the injustices facing the poor and minorities by supporting or fighting against legislation, helping to identify and acquire assistance for those wrongfully convicted; helping to change laws that disparately affect the poor and minorities; by helping others working to get educational programs for those incarcerated…programs that will lead to success and a future when they are released; and by assisting in any way possible to ensure equal justice and equal rights for all.
Furthermore, it is our mission to ensure that the Constitutional rights guaranteed to each of us are, in fact, guaranteed to all of us. Most importantly, we will be a voice for those who feel they don’t have one.
"If you as parents cut corners, your children will too. If you lie, they will too. If you spend all your money on yourselves and tithe no portion of it for charities, colleges, churches, synagogues, and civic causes, your children won't either. And if parents snicker at racial and gender jokes, another generation will pass on the poison adults still have not had the courage to snuff out."
